The Art of SSL
Okay, so not all uses of solid-state have to be practical or real-world. In fact, playful uses of a technology is as much a part of a transformation as any other. Humans use play as a way of immersing themselves in something emotional, beyond the practical needs of eating, sleeping, and surfing the internet. Playing is how we engage things that intrigue and interest us, without concern for realizing a substantive result.
In my own explorations this year, I have created works I use every day, and others that are far less practical. There is a place for both and many more in the space between.
